Update on Randy Orton / Stat on Rod Backlash

As we noted earlier, Randy Orton was removed from the game against Bray Wyatt at Backlash because he was not allowed to return to the ring since losing by TKO against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam on August 21. Orton worked a beating backstage with Bray, and later made an RKO in Bray before he lost against Kane.

Official WWE knew of Orton issues about whether authorized or not at least a week before, according to PWInsider. There was speculation about whether the injury is related to a concussion or not PWInsider but it is related. Orton spent some concussion tests but it has not happened consistently for doctors WWE feel that he was able to make a match. The decision was to remove the game that things do not get worse for him.

Orton taking a beating behind the scenes of Bray and then issue a RKO has scratched his head a few people. Many, including Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, who were surprised that Orton has been authorized to make an RKO if he really had a concussion, adding to speculation that this may be the point suture in his head that prevented Orton can fight.

The Twitter account WWE Stats and Info posted a statistic on Kane after his win against Bray Wyatt at Backlash, replacing injured Orton he helped win.

"Not only Kane is the only man to have fought at Backlash in 1999 and 2016, it is also the only man to have won the last 3 Backlash. "
