After winning the title of the United States, Roman Reigns gave an interview to Inquirer.net in which he spoke of the Shield and the New Era, here is what he said:
"NXT has become a big show, there was a wave of brilliant talents, this show really shines by itself. But what people often forget is that The Shield has been the beginning of this new era. We have laid the foundations that have allowed newcomers to continue the process in a more simple way. It is we who took the shots and set up foundations. We had to confront the older guys who were there for much longer, the system was not well anchored and ready to move. We arrived and did a good job in order to lead the young generation to something new. People can think what they want but the three members of the Shield were the guides.
We all three of respect for what was The Shield, this group was a lot for us. There are times when I miss it tremendously, six matches, the team matches ... It was always great. For me it was a good opportunity to learn, grow and overtake. This prepared me to become what I am today.
As Shield, we felt invincible, we have dominion hand the events and now, whether in this is always the case. We are proud of that. Regarding a meeting of the Shield, you should never say never but we are all satisfied with our current positions. To meet this would require drastic change and risk-taking for the WWE. I think nothing is impossible therefore as always, keep your eyes open, you never know. "
