Vince McMahon to radically change the character of Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal will face Randy Orton at Backlash for his WWE title, which he won a few weeks ago at Smackdown. Since then, Mahal has made several promos, delivering from time to time insults to the American public. This technique allows him to assert his role as Heel but it was not part of the original plans for the wrestler. It was Vince McMahon who decided to radically change the character:

"Before the game to become title challenger, we came to see me that Vince McMahon had changed my promo. I saw it, and there were many commentaries on the Americans. At the time, I clearly preferred the old promo. I had to say that at first I wanted to do things reglove but nobody listened to me. Now I was taken seriously because I had beaten the best Smackdown wrestlers. It was a classic Heel promo, with no references to Americans. But I followed the changes of Vince and I can say it's a genius. I had a bad reaction. I did not believe it at first, I did not think it would work as well. "
