Samoa Joe made his debut in the NXT May 20, 2015 at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable where he also intervened during the match between the champion Kevin Owens NXT facing Sami Zayn, in favor of the latter.
According Brother Love, former employee of WWE, thanks to somehow Kevin Owens that Samoa Joe is now in WWE. He said Vince McMahon saw Samoa Joe as a simple Samoan and nothing more but Kevin Owens changed his vision to see what Vince McMahon wrestler and now think that Samoa Joe is a very good wrestler.
