The exclusive PPV of Smackdown, Backlash, will take place on Sunday night and its card is quite surprising. Here are some rumors for this show.
1- The big surprise of the team titles
Fandango already surprised everyone, remembering his shocking victory against Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 29, and could reiterate the feat of surprise with Tyler Breeze against The Usos at Backlash. Both teams will compete for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship.
We know that the Usos are certainly better in the ring than their opponents but not in all that is around. Indeed the brothers do not like any more and their promos with the microphone are rather weak unlike Breezango, who to blow of self-deprecation, have impregnated their characters with humor. The duo have also been pretty well built in recent weeks and could create surprise by taking the PPV team titles, which would give WWE a first title for Fandango and Tyler Breeze.
2- A heelturn of Charlotte
Charlotte on the side of the babyfaces is a rather disturbing thing. We know the daughter of Ric Flair very personal and very concentrated on the title and we imagine it is difficult to stand next to the champion Naomi, whom she fought a few weeks ago for the title, In remembrance, was arrested after the intervention of Natalya, Carmella and Tamina. One could very well imagine Charlotte betray Naomi and want to return to the title race.
One could also very well imagine Charlotte attacking Naomi after a victory.
3- Tensions between James Ellsworth and Becky Lynch
Ellsworth is expected to be with Carmella during the Backlash fight and tension with Becky Lynch has intensified in recent weeks. One can imagine that the protégé of Carmella intervenes during the fight and tackles the Irish Lass Kicker in order to construct a bigger feud between the two that could result in a match.
4- NXT Takeover: Chicago better than Backlash
As said earlier, the backlash card is quite surprising with Jinder Mahal in hand event for the WWE Championship or Breezango in the title race, the women's title that will not be put back into play or more surprising fights like Harper vs. Rowan. One can imagine that this PPV could be very bad or very good, but we know that NXT Takeover will be good as usual.
Indeed, the return of Hideo Itami, a new defense of Asuka, a Ladder Match for the team titles or the throw-in of the UK Championship, offer a tantalizing card and as always, the talents of the NXT will give All to outdo and try to be better than the PPV of the roster hand. We also imagine the Chicago audience giving a lot of votes for the NXT. A solid show Saturday night vs a show of new opportunities Sunday which will be the best?
5- Nakamura vs Ziggler: Match of the evening
This fight is certainly the most expected of this PPV since it will be the first of Nakamura in the hand roster. Dolph Ziggler is also known to be very good the ring and the construction of their feud has been done in time, enough to give an explosion to the PPV and a quality match.
6- The return of Rusev
The Bulgarian Brute was supposed to come back during the last episode of Smackdown Live but never appeared. The Bulgarian had already been very virulent in his video addressed to Shane McMahon where he claims a game for the WWE Championship and could create an impact at Backlash by returning by surprise in a game. Most likely would be an intervention at Nakamura vs. Ziggler or the WWE Champion's attack after his victory.
